Pear, Cinnamon & Honey Porridge

Brilliant for cold winter mornings, this slow energy release porridge will help you sail through any big day.


1 mug of rolled oats

1/2 t cinnamon

1 1/4 mugs of milk

1 mug of water

1 x ripe pear

1 T honey (runny)

NOTE: the size of the mug you choose is only limited by the size of your appetite. Just be sure to use the same mug throughout this recipe.


COOKING TIME - 10 - 15 minutes

MAKES - two serves

1. Place the oats, cinnamon, milk and water into a saucepan over a medium-high heat.

2. Keep a close eye on the porridge as it starts to slowly bubble. Cook until the oats are soft to bite (if you want the cooking to be quicker, use a combination of rolled and 'quick oats'. We just think rolled tastes better!).

3. While the oats cook, cut your pear into bite-sized cubes.

4. Pour the porridge into two bowls, topped with the pear and a good drizzle of honey. Enjoy with a cup of tea/coffee and preferably in bed!
